The Australian Ballet, one of the world’s premiere ballet companies, will make its Jamaican debut, with the inaugural broadcast of The Sleeping Beauty, at Palace Cineplex, on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at 11:30 am,under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency, Mr. John Pilbeam, Australian High Commissioner to the Caribbean.

The season features The Fairy Tale Series including The Sleeping Beauty, FEBRUARY 19. Fairies, a prince and a spell-shattering kiss! The Australian Ballet, takes history’s most loved fairy tale into the modern age, with lavish sets and costumes by Gabriela Tylesova and never-seen-before staging, designs and choreography.

Cinderella- APRIL 19
Witty, vibrant, glamourous and romantic, Alexei Ratmansky’s Cinderella will sweep you off your feet as this stunning production.

Coppélia –JUNE 18                                                                                                                                                                 sparkling tale of magic and mischief, Coppélia has everything a good story ballet should: a touch of enchantment, a dash of romance and masses of sumptuous costumes.

The Australian Ballet company seeks to “inspire, delight and challenge audiences” and regularly represents Australia on the world stage, performing to critical acclaim in 87 cities, including New York, Shanghai, Tokyo, London and Paris. The Australian Ballet presents upwards of 250 shows, and 1,700 education and audience engagement events each year.

In 2012, Movie and Entertainment giant, Palace Amusement Company (1921) Limited added to its entertainment package by introducing Alternative Content with The Met Opera: LIVE in HD.  In less than five years, this exciting offering, which not only expands the company’s entertainment package outside of movies, but also exposes the Jamaican audience to sporting events, concerts, theatrical performances and cultural experiences, from across the globe, live and encore – without expensive price tags.

The Australian Ballet, is made possible through Palace Amusement’s partnership with CinemaLive. This latest initiative, now boosts the company’s impressive lineup which includes: The Met Opera: LIVE in HD, Encore and Summer Series, The National Theatre, Kenneth Branagh Theatre and The Bolshoi Ballet.
